
GTI’s Jim Hollis was invited to present “Geothermal Energy: Emerging Technologies and Oil & Gas Synergies” at the annual meeting of the IOGCC which was held in Colorado Springs, Colorado October 28th – 30th of 2024. At the title suggests, the presentation focused on the leverageable overlap between the technologies, data, procedures, and skills with the Oil and Gas industry and the emerging unconventional geothermal industry which includes Hot Sedimentary Aquifer (HSA) and Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) approaches to geothermal energy exploitation. Speakers at the conference also included Mark Gordon, Governor of Wyoming (IOGCC Chair) Mike Dunleavy, Governor of Alaska, (IOGCC Chair-Elect 2024) and Jared Polis, Governor of Colorado.
